And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. DESCRIPTION:Hunt’s Photo Education Presents…The Weekend Workshop: A long weekend conference featuring the Hunt’s Photo Education Team! The weekend will feature education seminars\, photo walks and workshops\, image reviews\, editing and file management\, and fine art printing. Our walks and workshops will feature a variety of (mostly) new options\, including macro photography and focus stacking\, portraits and lighting\, light painting and long exposure\, and black & white photography. \nDuring the weekend\, each attendee will have the opportunity to attend five Photo Walks/Workshops. We will have an introductory Photo Walk on the first evening that everyone will be able to attend. On days 2 and 3\, our instructors will conduct one Photo Walk in the morning and one Photo Walk in the evening. They will repeat the same schedule on Friday and Saturday. (So\, if you attend a Photo Walk with Instructor A on Friday morning\, you’ll have the ability to attend a different Photo Walk with Instructor B on Saturday morning.)\nDuring the middle part of Friday and Saturday\, we will have image reviews\, file management sessions\, and printing sessions. You are welcome to attend these\, or you can take a break\, if needed! We will also have lead-in online presentations during the week\, which you can attend for no additional charge. \nThis year will be centered out of our BRAND NEW Hunt’s Photo Waltham store location. Our Waltham store has two large classroom areas which will be excellent for our editing and review sessions\, as well as some of our hands-on workshops for the weekend! For planning purposes\, be aware that many of our walks and workshops will be taking place within the vicinity of Waltham/Newton and the surrounding areas. \nJoin us for a fantastic weekend of photo fun! \n  \nPlease Note: We are currently finalizing our Photo Walk/Workshop Schedule. DESCRIPTION:About The Printed Review Monthly \nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product. \nOur Print Review Monthly is a chance to continue the print conversation over the course of many months. The concept of these classes is similar to our Printed Vision Series Classes: Attendees will independently process 1-2 images and upload them to the instructor for review. The instructor will send back a video image review which will discuss how to improve the image to make it “print ready”\, including exposure\, focus\, composition\, and especially paper selection. The instructor will then print one of the images to be displayed in the Print Review\, which will take place both in-person and online\, in case you cannot attend live. In the end of each session\, you will end up with a print up to 13×19” on Fine Art paper to take home with you. (We print on Moab\, Hahnemuhle\, and Canson fine art papers.) \nFor this class\, you can either choose a single session OR sign up for three months at a discounted rate.  You do not need to attend 3 consecutive sessions and may attend whenever it’s convenient. Choosing this option is excellent to keep the printing conversation going! However\, please note that the sessions expire after one year. (If you end up not being able to attend all the sessions\, you can also exchange a session for an additional print!) \nThese sessions are excellent for anyone: \n• Someone that wants a little help with editing before they get a print \n• Someone that does print but has print-related questions \n• A person that prints often and wants to try a different paper \n• Someone with no knowledge of printing that just wants to get a print! \n  \nCome check out why printing is the best thing to do for your photography! \n  \nReceiving Your Print\nAfter the class\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to upload images for the image review\, and the link to get into the online class. (You won’t need this if you’re attending live.) If you sign up for the bundle of three sessions\, we will send out updates monthly with new upload and class links. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time.

SUMMARY:Multi-Session Series- Adobe Lightroom Classic- File Management & Editing- Hunt's Photo\, Waltham
DESCRIPTION:This is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. Specifically\, we will cover brief computer file management\, the importance of keywords\, flagging and rating photos\, and searching metadata to find images. In Week 2\, we’ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We’ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 3\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to “finish” the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom! \n \nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now.This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different– This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) If you are unsure\, feel free to email us at classes@huntsphoto.com. Important: If you are taking this course\, make sure to download/update the program in advance\, as you will not be able to download the program at the store. Older versions\, such as Lightroom 5 or 6\, are also acceptable\, though not all functions will be available. \n \nCurious which Adobe plan to get? SUMMARY:Hunt's May the Fourth Portrait Workshop- Star Wars Cosplay! (Hunt's Photo\, Waltham)
DESCRIPTION:Fear is the path to the dark side\, but good lighting and a fun photo shoot are the paths to successful images! Join Star Wars fanboy (and photography instructor) Paul Nelson as we photograph Star Wars cosplayers for this fun and unique photo workshop. \nWe will start with a brief introduction on how to position lights to create mood and a “cinematic look”\, as well as the difference between using LED and strobe lighting. We will then dive in to photograph our cosplayers with the emphasis on creating a dramatic look. We will utilize our spacious\, new Hunt’s Photo Waltham classroom as well as locations in the surrounding area. We’ll discuss how to light and what to use\, create shadows and textures\, use studio space and real-life locations\, work with models and more!\nIn this workshop\, we will cover:\n• How to compose the lighting in a scene\, including how and when to use flash vs LED\n• Flash and LED lighting (important enough to write it on here twice)\n• Using lighting indoor or outside\n• Creating dynamic shadows and effects in your work with lighting\, as well as other light modification\n• How to work with (posing and directing) models to achieve a desired look\n• Developing a creative concept in portraits\, not only using lighting and posing\, but also costumes (and if applicable\, hair and make-up)\nYou do not need to own a flash or lighting to attend this workshop. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nJoin us for this unique and fun workshop!

SUMMARY:Toy (and Lego) Photography Workshop- Hunt's Photo\, Waltham
DESCRIPTION:Come see your photography through the eyes of a kid and transform your toys into life size photos!\nIn this dual macro/still life class\, we’ll spend our day creating a variety of still life set ups\, unique macro scenarios\, different lighting techniques\, compositions\, and how to tell a story when working with toys. We will cover exposure\, composition\, how to use macro lenses and extension tubes\, how to set up lighting\, how to use light modifiers and more! \nWe will be bringing lots of toys and other props to photograph for this workshop. However\, we find in our macro workshops that our attendees value shooting some things of their own as much if not more than what we bring. So\, while we will have those toys and props\, feel free to bring your own!
