SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop with the Wayward Witches
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be photographing a coven of witches! We will utilize the natural outdoor environment– the woods\, a field\, along a stream–to create unique environmental portraits where the environment plays a role in creating the scene. Utilizing your environment in photographs is key to creating a fun portrait shoot! We will emphasize creating these portraits using available light through subject placement and composition with the aid of diffusers and reflectors.\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset in Hanover\, Connecticut.  Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

SUMMARY:Online: Using Reflections in Our Compositions
DESCRIPTION:When composing photographs\, we often have an opportunity to include reflections as a key component of the scene.  These reflections\, while summarized as merely looking good or interesting to many\, serve a far more meaningful purpose than aesthetics.  Commonly found in water\, windows\, and other reflective surfaces such as metal or wet pavement\, reflections add depth\, symmetry\, and impact to your photographs.  During this presentation\, Hunt’s Photo’s Director of Photo Adventures Don Toothaker will discuss and show various examples of how reflections add value to your photographs.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: A Day on Assignment- Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Located an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. On this workshop\, we will work for the day around a central assignment at Olde Sturbridge Village. In the end\, you should have a collection of images that support that central theme. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience\, work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure!\nJoin us for a great experience!\nPlease note: The cost of your ticket does NOT include the cost of your entrance into Olde Sturbridge Village\, which can be purchased here: https://www.osv.org/plan-your-visit/

These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “Minimalism”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Steam Punk in Waltham!
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a walk where we will work specifically on environmental portraiture in a street photography setting with the most outrageous (and awesome) subjects- Steampunk! \nFounded in 2011\, the Waltham Steampunk Festival is the oldest outdoor Steampunk Festival in the country. Steampunk is an aesthetic and fashion that often mixes old-fashioned design (ex. Victorian/19th century era) with futuristic technology\, or at least futuristic from the design’s standpoint. Colorful personalities\, eccentric clothing\, boisterous jewelry\, and clever gadgetry are just some of the elements to expect from this fun day! During the annual festival\, attendees and vendors gather to show off their unique outfits and inventions.  It is a spectacular event for photographers to experience and photograph. \nOn this walk\, we will photograph at the festival for the majority of the day\, meeting at 11:30am until the end of the festival at 4pm. (If you cannot attend for the entirety\, that’s OK\, but we will be in attendance for the day!) SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Piers Park\, East Boston
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk at Piers Park in East Boston. During the walk\, we will discuss shooting in lower light with an emphasis on night photography. This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts!\nMuch of East Boston consists of dense residential neighborhoods\, in part as a carryover from the area’s heavy influx of immigration at the turn of the previous century\, and in part to its proximity to downtown Boston. Piers Park was developed in the mid-1990s as a contrast to this\, offering beautiful landscaping\, natural vegetation\, and stunning views of downtown Boston. On this walk\, we will photograph the grounds of Piers Park and the skyline during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight. Photographers of all levels are welcome!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Photographing the Wiscasset\, Waterville\, and Farmington Steam Railway
DESCRIPTION:In Alna\, Maine\, a group of highly motivated and skilled volunteers has worked tirelessly to resurrect what was once a fully-functioning Narrow Gauge Railroad that once served parts of coastal and central Maine. Their work is a labor of love. On the campus of the railroad\, 97 Cross Road\, Alna\, Maine 04535\, several buildings are used for construction\, maintenance\, painting\, engineering\, and labor necessary to renovate\, build\, and maintain steam engines\, railroad cars\, track\, and other necessary components. The undertaking is immense\, impressive\, and fascinating. \nEverything about the location\, the trains\, the many details\, and the people who volunteer their skills to make the WW&F run makes for outstanding photographic opportunities. During the weekend of April 24 and 25\, the railway will be closed to the public as they do “spring cleaning” to prepare the railroad for the season opening. We will have unprecedented access to the campus\, the buildings\, and the volunteers for two full days of photography. The goal is an immersive\, documentary style of storytelling as individuals and as a group. This is a unique and fantastic opportunity. \nAfter the workshop\, anyone that attends (along with anyone that has attended a previous Midcoast/WW&F Adventure) will have the opportunity to sign up for a separate class on developing and creating a book and gallery prints based around the WW&F. This project is geared toward getting attendees more comfortable with the full process\, including culling\, editing\, processing for print\, and developing cohesive projects! (More details to come…) \n  \nGeneral Schedule: \nApril 24 – \nArrive WW&F Railroad at 10 am. \nBring a Lunch\, snacks\, drinks with you. Wiscasset is about 5 miles away if lunch needed. \nConclude afternoon at 5 pm \nDinner locally as a group \nApril 25 – \nArrive WW&F Railroad at 9 am \nBring a lunch \, snacks\, drinks\, with you. Wiscasset is about 5 miles away if lunch needed. \nConclude at 4 pm \nHead for home

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation
DESCRIPTION:The Charles River Museum of Industry is currently housed in what is considered the first ever factory in America. In Waltham\, the closed factory now plays the role of housing a history of the tools and machinery used in industry. This walk is an excellent chance to photograph the grit of the previous centuries under the Industrial Revolution\, and is a chance to work in low-light environments where the lighting sources cannot be controlled and focus on macro photography. Join us for a wonderful experience!

DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Wednesday April 8th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review – Wednesday April 22nd\, 7pm EST \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “A Sense of Motion”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: A Winter Muse in Central Maine
DESCRIPTION:Winter is often a difficult time of year for finding inspiration to get out and photograph.  One easy solution is to find an interior space to work in.  The other is to have a specific project to work on.  Combining access to an inspiring interior as well as a worthy project is just what the photographer ordered for a winter muse.  \nJoin us in Central Maine as we spend the weekend thoroughly exploring the interior of the South Solon Meeting House and other points of local interest.  Our primary goal will be to create an extensive body of work showcasing the historic meeting house in color\, monochrome\, and fine detail.  Join us!
